Original framed oil painting on canvas board, 20" x 16".

This painting depicts Cat Bells overlooking Derwentwater with the bracken glowing in the evening autumnal sun. An iconic Lake District landmark — a fell with deep personal significance for me. It was the first Wainwright I ever climbed, many years ago, and more recently I returned in a different role, helping to build and maintain the stone paths to help minimise erosion, while volunteering with Fix the Fells.

The work reflects both my long-standing connection to the landscape and my respect for its beauty and resilience.
