Original framed oil painting on canvas board, 12" x 16".

Painted from a view across Anglezarke Moor towards Winter Hill, this oil painting captures the open, rugged, windswept character of the West Pennine, Lancashire landscape.

Using a palette knife, I wanted to emphasise the texture of the moorland, the movement of the grasses and the changing light from the shifting skies.

The distant television mast stands quietly on the horizon, a familiar landmark rising from the hills and connecting the timeless landscape with the modern world.
